In May 2017, a University in New York has broken the world record of performing the longest Conga Line on ice. On January 14th 2018, Ice*Amsterdam is taking on the challenge to beat New York and break the world record. In order to achieve this we need your help! Are you not able to join us during this event? Even as a spectator you are more than welcome to encourage us during this world record attempt!
Below, all important information is provided for both participants and spectators of this event. It is important to state that this is an official record attempt. Therefore, please make sure that all instructions are correctly followed at all times. Participants
Program January 14th 09:30 – collect ice skates + free ice skating at the ice skating rink 10:45 – all participants are present wearing ice skates (please note: ice skates can be rented until 10:45) 10:45 – start program Until 12:00 – free ice skating at the ice skating rink
So how does this work?
Order your evidence of participation online. You will receive this via email.
Upon arrival, show the evidence of participation (printed or mobile) at the registration desk where it will be scanned. Here you will receive a colored wristband and a consumption for a free drink.
When you are at the site of Ice*Amsterdam, please make sure you have your ice skates at the ready (preferably from own possession). In case of not owning any ice skates, ice skates can be rented for free specially for this world record. Please fill in your shoe size when ordering your ticket.
When the color of your wristband is announced, please move to the entrance of the ice skating rink and sign up at the designated volunteer with the same color as your wristband. He or she will be your supervisor and guide you onto the ice skating rink.
Important: Make sure to follow the instructions of both your supervisor and the presenter at all times. Information:
When participating you will receive a consumption for a free drink
The attempt for the world record must last at least 5 minutes
Be on time
Ice skating rental is limited, so please bring your own ice skates when possible
Spectator Don’t want to join us during the world record, but still like to spectate the event? Of course everyone is welcome to join us! Enjoy the spectacular guest appearance and experience the world record up close. Below the most important information is stated:
As a spectator it is not permitted to enter the site of Ice*Amsterdam. This is only meant for the participants of the world record.
If you decide to come watch the event, please stand outside the ice skating rink (on the opposite side of the restaurant)
It is not allowed to stand inside the crush barriers located on the sides of the ice skating rink. This area is explicitly meant for the press.
As a spectator it is still possible to participate in the event! Please ask one of our volunteers or staff members at the registration desk for further information and directions.
